- It is very important never to just copy/paste content out of Word, Excel, etc. into the site. The formatting may carry over into the formatting of the navigation of the site. If you want to copy/paste please first do this in "notebook", which you can find in your Windows start menu, under programmes / accessories.
- Be aware that you always have two options for communicating with members: posting on the website or sending an email to a member personally. The content of your message should determine which of these you choose. Ask yourself whether it is relevant to anyone else.
- When commenting on content, do quote the specific information you're responding to and leave out the rest.
- Try to restrict yourself to one subject per post, writing multiple posts if you have multiple subjects. This also helps to keep clear who is responding to exactly what.
- Try to keep messages fairly brief. Try to restrict yourself to one or two screen-full's at most.
- Search the site using the search function before posting a question. Maybe this was already discussed in some way? This is also a good way to become familiar with topics and members.
- Speel check and reread you massages before poasting!!
- Make sure that the title of your message is meaningful. When you use the 'reply' or “comment” option, ensure that the title still accurately reflects the content of your message.
- Specify to which target group you want to restrict the content as well as whether is important "News" that everyone should know (otherwise put it on your blog) and specify the subject. Click here to learn how.
